Located in a rural community, St. Peter Lutheran Church sought to expand its facilities to better serve its congregation and future generations. The existing 11,609-square-foot church was operating at capacity, prompting the need for a thoughtful and substantial addition.
Pumford Construction was selected following a competitive bidding process—impressing the congregation with their detailed proposal, preparation, and clear communication. The project added 17,591 square feet of new space, designed to enhance both the worship experience and community fellowship.
Because the site lacked fire suppression infrastructure, Pumford and the design team faced the challenge of meeting fire code and building code requirements while maintaining the desired open, connected layout. Strategic planning ensured compliance without compromising the building’s beauty or function.
Acoustics were also a key design focus—critical for worship quality and musical performance. Working closely with the architect, Pumford implemented advanced acoustic solutions using premium materials chosen for quality and value rather than prefabricated options, achieving exceptional sound clarity in both the Sanctuary and Narthex.
At Pumford, we take pride in the work we do. No matter how large or small the project is, we always deliver quality.
The completed facility reflects a perfect balance of craftsmanship, acoustical performance, and spiritual function.
“From the very beginning, it was clear that Pumford Construction was the right choice. Their preparation, professionalism, and attention to detail were unmatched. Every person on site was respectful, skilled, and easy to work with. It has been a joy to see this space come to life—and if we ever build again, it will absolutely be with Pumford.”
