Experience Green
Pumford Construction understands that sustainable energy and renewable resources are important to the future of our world. We currently have five Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals on our staff that understand small changes can go a long way.
In 2007-2009, Pumford Construction designed and built our first two LEED Certified projects. Not only were they milestones for the company, but they were also milestones for the parties involved. The first was for Consumers Energy, an affiliate of CMS Energy, for the Consumers Energy Marshall Training Facility. This project became LEED Certified in 2009.
The second project was for developer ProVisions and tenants, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality as well as the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth. This project hit LEED Gold Certification, the second highest rating with the U.S. Green Building Council. Currently, this building is only the second building in Michigan north of the Flint/Lansing line to hit Gold Certification.
